I decided I really wanted to drop back and listen to UM 1 last night after being up at the 4 and 5 levels for a while. I first tried UM 3, then UM 2 but found I just could not stand to listen to them. (That rarely happens to me, although I know some people report they just can't stand to listen to some CDs at some times. Normally I absolutely love listening to all the UM CDs.)

When I plugged into UM 1, I was quite surprised to hear all kinds of things going on on the CD that I'd never heard before. I'm using the same headphones, the same volume, the same CD player, so I don't know what could be different. And it's not like it's been months since I last listened to it, either. I'll often listen to UM 1 a time or two every week, just because I really like what it feels like when those bells go over my head, so it's not like I've entirely forgotten what it sounds like.

The only things I can figure out that I'm doing differently is I've been having chelation therapy once a week for mercury poisoning, and I've been doing more sustained/combined creative/analytical thinking over the past month than I usually do--definitely running both hemispheres of my brain on all four cylinders.

Still, I cannot believe the difference in texture I'm getting with UM 1. I'm really quite surprised! And pleased with it, too.

Have other people had such a sudden, profound difference in experience with these CDs? How do you account for it? Dane, your thoughts?

Diane
