I recently acquired a Learning Machine from ebay and have a few questions that people here might be able to help me with. Here goes:
1) How are the lights controlled by the CD/tape? (preprogrammed or
real time trigger)
2) Does the headset house the components for generating sound
(doubtful) or are the tones purely from the CD?
3) The device can't be used via my CDRom but can be through a
conventional CD player. Why?
4) I have been told that you can't listen to the CDs without the LM.
How do they do this, and is it the same with the tapes?
5) Are there any programs that can be used to create your own
sessions?
I really like the headset design - especially the visor that doesn't
rest on the bridge of your nose like all but one of my other machines
(I made a headset using welding goggles which is quite comfortable).
It's other endearing feature is the fact that it only has one cable
coming from it. The mess of wires is my least favourite part of using
L&S machines.
Anyway, since these machines are no longer being produced I wondered if the software for composing sessions might be available to enthusiasts.
thanks
Matt
