I have been using the Ultra Meditation series, and the mind quest mind machine for a bit over a week now.
I also use various tapes from the Monroe Institute, and the Super Intelligence cd... meaning i get up to 4 sessions of "techno-meditation" a day... one interesting result...
headaches.
They are not like normal headaches, they are completely bareable, and i can "turn them off" if i concentrate on relaxing my brain... but i get them during the day, not when i am listening to tapes, cd's or the mind-quest machine

Maybe you're doing some rapid "rewiring" of your brain? :)

If you slow down, does it make a difference?

When I was into TM back in the seventies, the Maharishi used to caution us that it's very important to balance meditation with activity. I was at a two-month-long residence course where we were meditating a LOT, but we had to do what's called "rounding": a half-hour session of meditation followed by an equal amount of time doing yoga and breathing; then repeat. Among other things, you can start detoxing your body and releasing stress very rapidly when you do this.

This intensive meditation/yoga was combined with plenty of good, fresh, organic food and lots of water to help reduce the body's burden. Still, many people at the course at first had negative side effects (headaches, etc.) because they had so much crap (mostly illicit drugs) in their systems. The answer to this was to slow down and do fewer rounding sets to allow the body to release stress/toxins more slowly.

I think this is good advice for any Mind Warrior.

Diane
