Dane, I got my MindQuest package today and have been playing with it for hours. Really having fun. I love that Savannah Nights tape. I've also tried using UM I with it. My only complaint is that you can't adjust the volume while in play mode like you can with the brightness. The default tone is way too loud for my sensitive ears, and I hate it that the only way around this is either to manually adjust it (not easy) or take up program slots just to lower the sound. (Remember this when you come out with your new-improved model! :))

Also, I really wish it were possible to turn the sound off entirely for those times when I use it with your CDs that have entrainments already built into them. When I start writing my own custom programs for the machine, how can I get the tone to be as low as possible starting out so I don't have to manually adjust the sound?

Have you perchance written up more detailed instructions on how to custom program on this? Specifically,

(1) How do you string together more than one sequence into one program so it all saves together (like on the preprogrammed ones)?

(2) How do you get spoken affirmations into custom programs for saving? I got the impression before I ordered this that I could save the affirmations directly into the mind machine, which is really why I bought it; not that I'd have to put them on a separate tape and then audio it in. Was I wrong? I can't figure out what to do. Advanced instructions needed!

(3) Do you have any beginner's guidelines for equating cps and time length of a sequence with the various brainwave frequencies? Like, for example, how many cps/minutes would you start with to align with alpha? Or maybe you could suggest a test sequence to try to give us a feel for how you get those great effects. I have no idea how to begin, because there's no way I can figure out what you did on the 1-10 pre-sets. It would be nice to have those programs written down somewhere so we could have a jumping off place for our own custom programs.

(4) Speaking of custom programs, any chance you might make available for sale/download written programs for the MindQuest (that users could program in themselves) to go along with UM I-V or other products you come out with, at least for the light glasses (with the tone turned way down so as not to conflict with UM)? I'm trying to remember: are there entrainments on the Healing Series CDs? Those might be good ones to use with the existing built-in entrainments. (Going to go try that now.)

BTW, I noticed that UM I is exactly 30:10 minutes. Which leads me to think that you were doing something with that and MQ because pre-sets on the MindQuest count down 10 seconds, then play for 30. Was that a coindidence?

This is long, I know. Break it down into pieces if you need to! And thanks for answering, Dane. Really cool product, you know! I want to get the most out of it.

Diane
