I’m a new user of the Ultra Mediation series and, so far, have been quite pleased with the CDs after the first week of use. But, I have a question for you based on something I read today in a newsletter put out by the Centerpointe Institute. In the newsletter they mention that the meditative process in the people who use their system is progressively deepened through the use of lower "carrier frequencies". The basic principle of entrainment used in their product seems to be the same as that described by Dane and others who produce sound-entrainment products, but they claim that by lowering the carrier frequencies it is possible to produce stronger versions of the alpha and theta states.

At present I am using the UM 1 CD, but was wondering if the progression in the UM series is also based on this lowering of the carrier frequencies, or if another principle is at work here. The Centerpoint newsletter seems to be implying that this process is unique to them and therefore makes their product best for the progressive deepening of the meditative process. I've noticed on the message forum that some people who have been through the whole process with the UM series (through CD #5) start to then jump around between the CDs based on what they feel is needed at the moment, and I wonder if this is because there is a lack of deepening beyond the UM 5 CD, or if something else is at play here.

Is this lowering of the carrier frequencies also used by Mind-Tek to create a stronger (deeper) version of the alpha or theta state, or is some other process being used? I’ve read Dane’s book in its entirety and couldn’t find anything that specifically addresses this issue of carrier frequencies as related to the progressive deepening of meditation over time.

Does anybody have experience with the Centerpoint series as compared to the UM series who can say something about the experiential difference between the two...Thanks.
