I just started about a week ago. The first few times I used the first CD it was as if I lost twenty to twenty-five minutes, now it is as if I have to fight the whole time with keeping my mind not thinking about things... Is this what I am to expect or will this change? What type of events usually happen? Any suggestions would be apreciated.

Try to let go of your expectations. This can be difficult especially for analytical minds because you are looking for tangible results to justify what you are doing. Don't fall into that trap. When you first started listening you had no expectations, and just went with the experience. This is your goal. To be in that beginners mind. If thoughts or questions do enter your mind during your meditation, recognize them for what they are and allow them to pass. Try this for the next 8-10 sessions and see if there is not a significant difference in the way you feel during and after your session. Also are you journaling? After each session, make sure you write in your journal your experiences... thoughts and feelings. This may seem like a waste of time, but is extremely valuable for a number of reasons. And if you stick with it you will discover why. After the first 30 days go back and read your journal entries. You should see a pattern unfold that will be useful. As the Zen master is fond of saying...."expect nothing——be ready for anything."
